Abstract : Oxo complexes play a central role in the biological and inorganic chemistry of molybdenum. In the +5 oxidation state molybdenum oxo chemistry is dominated by the (Mo(V)2O3)(4+) unit, which contains a linear oxo bridge which spin pairs two d(1) centers while two terminal oxo ligands adopt syn or anti orientations perpendicular to the oxo bridge.
