Abstract : This report provides the basic information required to perform routine light measurements encountered in the laboratory environment. Tutorial discussions are provided in identifying the type of measurement required, selecting the appropriate instrument(s), performing the measurement, minimizing errors, and reporting the data. Appendices provide lists of the light measurement instrumentation and light sources available within USAARL, with a summary description of each. In addition, safety steps for the prevention of personal injury and equipment damage are presented.
