Abstract : A Feasibility Study is being conducted for the O-Line Ponds area at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, TN. The purpose of the study is to identify remedial technologies which have the potential to treat, contain, or dispose of contaminated media and to develop remedial alternatives which will mitigate the risks posed to human health and the environment by conditions at the site. Additional field sampling and analysis will be performed to address the data gaps identified by the Remedial Investigation concerning the contaminant migration mechanisms at the O-Line Ponds. This Focused Feasibility Study report addresses remediation of Operable Unit 1, groundwater in the vicinity of and downgradient from the O-Line Ponds area. The report summarizes conditions at the O-Line Ponds area based on the RI, introduces and screens general response actions, technology types, and process options appropriate for remediation of groundwater (OUl) based on site-specific conditions and the potential to satisfy remedial action objectives. Process options are screened and developed into eight alternatives. Each alternative is evaluated in detail using the nine criteria identified in the NCP (40 CFR 300.430 (e)). A-comparison of remedial alternatives is then performed.
