Abstract : This report presents the concept of imagery interoperability, reviews the background leading to the establishment of the Imagery Interoperability Architecture (IIA), describes in detail this architecture, and discusses the military advantages to be gained by applying the architecture to a reconnaissance program. The primary benefit of the IIA is the value that is added with its incorporation into any imaging reconnaissance system (using still and/or dynamic imagery), permitting any ground system to receive any image at any time regardless of the source.
