Abstract : Advanced information technologies permit the gathering and coordination of procurement information through electronic data bases networks, and workstations. Additionally, procurement processes can now be streamlined and automated to create a new paperless work environment. The new procurement systems will have great impact on the way work is performed, the number and skills of contracting personnel, and market and procurement organization structure. This study is intended to help DoD procurement managers understand and deal with the changes that advanced information technologies will bring about in procurement.
