Abstract : RJARS is an engagement level model that simulates air-to-ground and ground-to-air combat, primarily the latter, treating the combatants as individuals rather than aggregating. It has been designed to consider terrain masking, multipath and clutter, and flight dynamics in order to more carefully evaluate jamming effectiveness and mission attrition. The model is an extensive development of JARS (Jamming Aircraft and Radar Simulation). The current version of RJARS considers sorties in which aircraft carrying warning receivers, jammers, anti-radiation missiles, and air-launched cruise missiles fly against a defensive system with search, acquisition, and tracking radars, IR and optical systems, surface-to-air missiles, artillery, and a command, control, and communications system. All equipment parameters and scenarios can be varied.
