Abstract : The AFOSR-sponsored workshop Cognition in the Brain: Investigations Using Positron Emission Tomography, was held on June 16 and 17, 1991 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. The goal of this workshop was to identify and begin a continuing discussion of the major issues affecting the generation and testing of new hypotheses about cognitive processing. The workshop covered three major topics: (1) Anatomic localization of components of cognitive processing; (2) Issues of data analysis arising from cognitive function experiments; and (3) Task design in cognitive function studies with PET.
