Abstract : Nitroguanidine, a primary component of U.S. Army triple-base propellants, was evaluated for mutagenic potential in the Drosophila melanogaster Sex-Linked Recessive Lethal test. Nitroguanidine was non-mutagenic following 72-hour feeding exposures to concentrations of nitroguanidine ranging from 2.08 micrograms/millimeter to 20.8 micrograms/millimeter. Keywords: Mutagenicity, Genetic toxicology, Sex-linked recess lethal assay, Drosophila melanogaster, Nitroguanidine.
