Abstract : Over the last few years, increased attention has been given to the need for an unambiguous language in order to develop better communication in the area of Foreign Military Sales. This thesis developed the foundation for a Logistics Fundamental Language by simplifying the English vocabulary used within the International Logistics community. The intent is to make International Logistics documents easier to read, understand and use by those customers within the logistics system. This controlled English consists of a specialized vocabulary of approximately 1100 words selected from Foreign Military Sales documents. Additionally, 360 words of the controlled vocabulary are defined using the restricted vocabulary. The final result of this thesis is not a ready-to-use dictionary, but a foundation for future theses to use and complete the dictionary so it can be used within the International Logistics community.
