Abstract : This thesis presents the results of an extensive literature search for finding the confidence intervals for system reliability and availability of maintained systems using Monte Carlo techniques. The characteristics of system reliability and maintainability analysis are discussed. The basic Markovian failure and repair models are developed. A summary of the point estimates of availability, reliability of maintained systems, and the exact analytical methods are presented.. Finally, the Bootstrap (Double Monte Carlo technique) is used to obtain the confidence limits for the availability of the maintained systems.
