Abstract : Several species of marine and freshwater algae were used in bioassays to determine the effects of potential aquatic contamination which might result from the use of hydrazine and shale derived fuel propellants. Techniques are described for both chronic and spill types of exposure and the results are each discussed. Compounds evaluated included hydrazine, monomethylhydrazine, unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine and shale JP-8.
