Abstract : Several experiments were performed to investigate the degree of incoherence associated with, and the extent of biases caused by, the certainty and anchoring effects for the following utility assessment procedures: standard gamble fixed state (without and with overfitting and least squares incoherence resolution), regional coherence, and local coherence. Several elicitation formats were also compared. The purpose of these experiments was to assist in the development of a reliable (coherent), bias-free, CADA-based method of utility assessment for general use in educational evaluation. (Author)
