Abstract : A new way of evaluating information systems management is given. The converging data processing and telecommunications technologies that are making concepts of the past inadequate for using both information and information systems to achieve organizational objectives are evaluated. The impact the converging technologies can and will have upon the traditional organizational and managerial structures designed around and for information systems is discussed. It is shown that as information systems become more technologically complex and interdependent, the need for more effective information systems planning and management escalates. This project considers the nature of information, the forces leading to integrated management, and the interaction of integrated information systems and the management environment. The relationship between Integrated Information Systems Management and effective and efficient interfacing of the diverse information systems that exist in organizations today is explored.
