Abstract : This document is the Final Report of the E-3A EMP Evaluation Test Program conducted for the AFWL, at Kirtland Air Force Base. The report is divided into four sections: Test Planning, Test Procedures, Data Management and Test Activities. The Test Planning Section emphasizes the importance of pretest activities, demonstrates what can happen if critical items (such as connectors) are not identified early, and makes recommendations for future tests. The Test Procedures Section gives a step-by-step detailed explanation for performing an EMP test on a large test object. A great number of the problems the test crew encountered on this program are pointed out and solutions are recommended. A brief discussion on power-on testing and breakout box qualification tests are included at the end of the section. The most detailed section in the report is Section IV, Data Management. Virtually every function of Data Management is covered in this section; examples of typical response data, 284 calibration data, Daset log sheets and Adset log sheets are given and explained. The final section, Test Activities, explains to the reader the mechanics of performing a test at the HPD facility. (Author)
