Abstract : A module of the radiation transport code Vehicle Code System (VCS) called MORSE was modified to accept the GIFT combinatorial geometry package. GIFT, as opposed to the geometry package previously used in MORSE, allows an expanded set of simple descriptor bodies. These additional bodies will simplify the task of developing a mathematical description of a combat vehicle and may allow the use of models previously prepared for conventional vulnerability analyses. The new VCS module named MORSE with GIFT (MIFT) has computer running times comparable to MORSE but with geometry storage requirements less by almost a factor of two for the cases studied. Two versions of MIFT are described: the first, similar to MORSE, allows variation of all input parameters while the second has a simplified, but limited, input.
