Abstract:

The Task Force examined the R and D programs of the Services and DARPA in each of the following six functional areas of training 1 Recruit Training, 2 Specialized Skill Training, 3 Officer Acquisition Training and Professional Development Education, 4 Flight Training, 5 Weapon System Trainng Subsystem Development, and 6 Crew, Group, Team, and Unit CGTU Training. Extensive data were provided by the laboratories concerned with R and D on training equipment and procedures, by the training commands, training equipment program mangers PMs and system project offices SPOs, ASDM and RA, and to a lesser extent by industrial sources. The summary findings and general recommendations follow.
