Abstract : In 2011, the Department of Defense (DoD) published the Government-Wide Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan that established a government-wide initiative to promote Diversity and Inclusion. While the military is a diverse organization, it is unclear if it is an inclusive organization; therefore, it is necessary to measure the military's climate for inclusion. The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) has measured Inclusion for civilian members within the federal government; however, there has yet to be an assessment of a climate for inclusion for the military population. The DEOMI Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS)intends to fulfill that role.
