Abstract : Our ultimate goal is use spin-polarization scanning tunneling microscopy (SP-STM) to measure magnetization at the atomic scale in thin films and in devices. For devices, our goal is to correlate the atomic-scale magnetism and spin density with the macroscopic spin transport properties of 2D materials. This is a long-term effort at the forefront of research. We have made important progress and are approaching the ultimate goals.
