Abstract : The investigators wish the American Veterans and civilians with amputations can use powered prostheses with direct skeletal attachment and direct bidirectional neural control. Since 2004, their work has been devoted improving a skin-device and bone-device interface. Current research is designed as a translational study to develop Skin and Bone Integrated Pylon with Peripheral Neural Interface (SBIP-PNI) directly attached to the residuum and the powered prosthetic hand with bidirectional control.
