Abstract : The overarching goal of the BADER Consortium is to advance and strengthen evidence-based orthopaedic rehabilitation care that resultsin optimal functional outcomes for each wounded warrior. This will be accomplished by advancing each of the following strategic areas:1: Strengthen and support orthopaedic rehabilitation research capabilities through infrastructures and partnerships; 2: Conduct a variety of innovative, high impact, and clinically relevant research studies; 3: Establish a self-sustaining research enterprise by broadening the scope of impact and support for the BADER Consortium. Key Accomplishments to date: Established: Administrative Core, Clinical Research Core and Scientific Technical Cores; approval and establishment of eight clinical research projects; development and implementation of an Omnibus CRADA; established a consortium-wide omnibus PDMS; partnership with the DoD and VAs Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE); developed research focus (gap) areas in partnership with EACE; established and implemented a complete process for the call, submission, review and selection of Consortium funded projects; published the annual BADER call for clinical research proposals, established the BADER Consortium SOPs; completed the hiring of eight research support staff to be placed onsite at MTFs; established partnerships with the VA and NIH; obtained over $4M of external funding
