Abstract : Conventional logic encryption has been shownto be weak against key extraction attacks from reverseengineers. However, with the presence of camouflagedlogic gates, an adversary is fundamentally unable to use anextracted netlist to back-trace observed outputs anddetermine the state of key data bits at key-gate inputs.Circuit camouflage hardens logic encryption and providesindependent protection as well.
