Abstract : Automatic target recognition (ATR) is a promising technology that could significantly improve naval mine countermeasures (MCM) operations by automating a large portion of the data analysis. Successful long-term implementation of ATR requires a flexible platform to facilitate the development and testing of ATR algorithms. To that end, NSWC PCD has created the Modular Algorithm Testbed Suite (MATS), a modular software architecture for ATR development. The MATS framework provides a common ATR development architecture for disparate development groups and serves as the integration point for introducing ATR into Fleet post-mission analysis (PMA) systems.
