Abstract : Evidence-based practice is described as incorporating scientific evidence, clinical expertise and the patient's values and preferences to provide quality healthcare. Despite growing scientific support, governmental/accreditation requirements and healthcare leader support, organizational adoption of EBP in clinical settings is inconsistent and not well-described. The 59th Medical Wing Nurse Executive Function directed the initiation of an EBP council for the advancement of nursing services to better support the 59 MDW high reliability organization.
