Abstract : The fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War has arguably resulted in the United States assuming the role of the worlds sole military superpower. Throughout the last two decades, opponents of the United States have sought to offset her military supremacy with asymmetric warfare, and wars against the United States and its allies have evolved into the fight for hearts and minds through ideology and insurgency
