Abstract : This project investigated biodiesel combustion and soot processes using four complementary approaches including computational modeling based on high performance computers, laser diagnostic experiments in an optically accessible diesel engine, direct in-flame soot particle sampling and structure analysis, and engine performance and emissions testing.
