Abstract : Turbulent incompressible bubbly flow in a vertical pipe in a Reynolds number range is studied computationally by using second-moment closure models. A corresponding instability sensitive eddy-resolving Reynolds stress model is applied in addition to the conventional Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes approach. The two-phase flow computations are performedby utilizing an Eulerian two-fluid model. The numerical results are compared with available experimental data and data from Direct Numerical Simulation. The implementations of the described models and the computations are done in the numerical code OpenFOAM(registered trademark) .
