Abstract : An all digital simulation of the existing boiler and control system of CVA-63 was carried out. A significant savings in computer time over previous simulations was realized. The parameter-plane method was used to search for new operating points for each of the system minor control loops. Individual loop transient response was tested with a simulation program to demonstrate improved response with new operating points. The entire system response was then investigated to demonstrate the overall effects. Recommendations were made for new controller settings along with component variations in order to improve over-all system response. (Author)
