Abstract : This report presents the derivation of an equation for computing the drag force on re-entering vehicles. The equation takes into account the inertial, gravitational, and centripetal forces making it applicable to objects approaching altitudes of Earth satellites. The report presents and explains the programming for an IBM 7094 computer including a table of Fortran Symbols, a sample data card, a general program flow chart, and a complete program printout.
