Abstract : If an electron beam passes through a space filled with a neutral gas at a pressure of 0.001 to 0.01 Torr, the gas will be ionized by collisions of the beam electrons with the gas molecules and a plasma may be formed in the space which is many times the density of the beam. In this report, three aspects of the steady-state behavior of such a beam-plasma system are investigated. (Author)
