Abstract : Food served to enlisted personnel contributes greatly to the morale and efficiency of the Military Services. Existing statuatory regulations and Executive Orders have created disparities in the basic ration systems used by the Military Services. There has been an attempt over the past ten years to develop a Uniform Ration Law, which would be used as a basic document for placing the services under one ration system. Problems which are now inherent in the Military Services are presented and the differences these problems create are discussed. The author arrives at the conclusion that the systems could be greatly improved even though the basic documents now in use are varied. Further, eceonomies may be gained by more interservice cooperation in the present feeding systems. Recommendations are made to improve the systems now and after passage of a Uniform Ration Law.
