Abstract : The results of angular energy distribution measurements on semitransparent cesium antimony photocathodes are presented. The angular distributions are narrower than cosine distributions and show a strong tendency for photoelectrons to be emitted normal to the surface. The shapes of the distributions show only a small dependence upon such parameters as wavelength of the incident light, photoelectron energy, angle of incidence of the light, or sensitivity of the photocathode. Somewhat greater differences exist in angular distributions between front (vacuum face) illumination and back (glass substrate side) illumination. Energy distributions correspondingly show little dependence upon angle of emission. (Author)
