Abstract : The General Inquirer system of content analysis was used to analyze Egyptian and Israeli documents for the period July 19-28, 1956. An extensive experiment on methods of scaling action data has been performed, and the scale was used to analyze behavior during the time period studied. The data for the time period studied were rather limited, thus an adequate test of hypotheses must be deferred until data for subsequent periods are analyzed. Yet even with the data at hand, techniques of analysis reveal that some important distinctions were made by Egyptian and Israeli decision-makers. But at this early stage in the research their significance is only speculative. (Author)
