Abstract : This volume is one of seven which describe different aspects of the TEMPER model. TEMPER, an acronym for Technological, Economic, Military and Political Evaluation Routine, is a model for simulating global Cold War conflict and is programmed to be run on a digital computer. The goal of the computer simulation is to permit quantitative analysis of a wide range of international conflict situations. It provides insight into the complex interaction between political, economic, cultural, and military factors for up to 39 nation-groups formed from a 117 nation data base. The program is written in FORTRAN for a CDC 1604B computer. This volume is a computer operator's reference for setting up, debugging, and running a game. It provides the computer operator with sufficient information on the TEMPER Handling System and the TEMPER Data Base Management System to fully utilize all their features. (Author)
