Abstract : An extension of the theory of plasma temperature measurement by vacuum ultraviolet absorption has been made which makes this technique useful in obtaining time-resolved temperatures. A survey of available photoionization cross sections is given, and improvements which lead to better time resolution are suggested. (Author)
