Abstract : Five packaged, self-contained fire suppression systems were devised after a comprehensive review of pertinent material. Eighty-one references are attached. The two most promising concepts, as recommended by FMRC and approved by the Navy, are a multi-cycle, total flooding system using Bromotrifluoromethane and an automated sprinkler system using water.
