Abstract : An analysis is made of the observational contributions to the total system error of the Navy's Satellite Doppler Geodetic System. Aside from the error imposed by the limited number of satellites available for analysis, which limits the complexity of the gravity field that can be used, it is concluded that the system error is about 10 meters for the observations from a single satellite pass, and is 5 meters or less for multiple passes.
