Abstract : An analysis is presented of the large amount of geomagnetically trapped particle radiation (due to both natural and ARGUS injection) data obtained by Explorer IV, satellite 1958 Epsilon, during July - September 1958. A previous report (Lundquist, Naumann, and Weber, J. Geophys, Res. 67, 4125 (1962) ) presented an analysis of the naturally trapped radiation as detected by the directional scintillation counter (Detector A, Channel 2) on board the satellite. This work was centered on ARGUS type trapping and was intended to supplement the previous report. The objectives were to apply analysis similar to that employed for the naturally trapped particles to the directional ARGUS trapped particles and also to attempt further analysis of the omnidirectional penetrating radiations, both for natural and ARGUS trapping, using the data obtained by the G-M detectors (Detectors C and D, Channels 3 and 1). The report develops these objectives and presents all results so far obtained.
