Abstract : Five identical cable assemblies were manufactured. Each had solder-type connectors, two backshell arrangements, four types of wire insulations, and six types of sleeving (three of which were heatshrinkable) at the connectors. The connectors had neoprene rubber inserts. The insulation resistance of each circuit was measured before and during the exposure to the humidity environment specified in MIL-STD-304. The ability of the various cable components to maintain insulation resistance varies. The measurements were analyzed for significant differences. (Author)
