Abstract : This study considers known or suggested problems in locating, handling, placing, cooling, and maintaining an unattended nuclear power plant on the floor of the deep ocean. It does not discuss the problems of reactor design and construction except as its size, shape, and effects on the environment affect the general logistic situation. The report does not state categorically that the concept is feasible with present technology, and possible avenues of approach are suggested for those areas of known deficiency.
