Abstract : Thisreport describes numerical integration techniques which were applied to transient acceleration records at the Waterways Experiment Station. The methods studied were the trapezoidal, Simpson's, and Weddle's rules. Results of tests described in this report indicated that the trapezoidal rule was superior to the others for the type of transient acceleration records studied. Appendix A describes a theory for developing a new shock-measuring instrument, formulated by W. P. Welch. (Author)
