Abstract : The validity of the Born approximation for determination of the reflection coefficients of plasma slabs is numerically examined for two cases: the uniform underdense plasma slab and a plasma slab with a sunusodial electron density perturbation superimposed on a constant electron density. The regions of validity of the Born approximation are discussed in each case.
