Abstract : Data is presented for the design of diplexers that consist of a stubtype band-stop filter connected in parallel with an interdigital band-pass filter. After the first resonator is removed from both filters, the input admittance properties of these filter structures are seen to complement each other so that an excellent impedance match is obtained in the operating bands of both filters, and no susceptance annulling network is required. Design equations are presented for an interdigital band-pass filter sothat the filter can be designed directly from low-pass lumped-element prototype filters. A specially designed stubtype band-stop filter is required for this application, and tables of suitable designs having 0.10-db Chebyshev ripple and 0.01-db Chebyshev ripple are presented. A new form of impedance-transforming network is described. These impedance-transforming networks consist of short sections of transmission line which ultimately have relatively high and relatively low impedance. (Author)
