Abstract : Binary transition metal compounds with either pnigogens, chalcogens, silicon, boron, carbon, or germanium having the general formula M5X2 have been discussed previously. The present work concerns those compounds having hexagonal or trigonal symmetry, i.e. Pd5As2, Ni5Si2, and Ni5P2. Single crystal data were used to establish the space groups for Pd5As2 and Ni5Si2 and Guinier patterns obtained for Pd5As2, Ni5Si2, and Ni5P2. Comparison of these eatablished a close structural relationship between them. (Author)
