Abstract : A mathematical model is described, which has been devised for improving the physical understanding of helicopter dynamic instability in hovering (two degrees of freedom). A demonstration model has been built according to this principle. The influence of parameters, artificial stabilization and sling load on the dynamic characteristics is shown.
