Abstract : A hybrid power supply capable of giving 0.5 amp. d.c., with a peak ripple of 1.5 m.v. at full load and an internal resistance of less than 0.1 ohms is described. The regulating transistor is completely protected from the effects of tube failure, overload and short circuit. The unit has been in continuous use for two years and may be considered to thoroughly tested.
