Abstract : The possibility of replacing the existing Telegraph Terminal TH-22 (XC-3)/TG by a microelectronic design has been investigated. It is shown, that by a redesign of the Terminal, standard digital integrated circuit can replace most of the conventional circuits presently used. A considerable reduction in volume, weight and power consumption can be achieved. The realization of a bandpass filter similar to that of the F-316/U by means of active RC filters in a digital filter configuration has been studied. Two filters are being constructed to provide 3db of ripple over a 200 cps bandwidth. The attenuation 100 cps beyond the 3db cutoff frequencies will be 40db and 62db, respectively. Studies of throw-away and replacement concepts for microelectronics were initiated. Additional investigations of tolerance selection to optimize circuit and system reliability have resulted in impjovement of analysis procedure. (Author)
