Abstract : A design-optimization program was conducted that included stress analyses and the determination of design parameters, winding patterns, and fabrication techniques for filament-wound, cylindrical, pressure vessels. An investigation of the materials, processes, and structural analyses required to efficiently utilize the improved mechanical properties of new glass fibers was also conducted, with the aim of improving filament-wound composite structures.
