Abstract : Electron-microscopic fractography has recently been employed to study intergranular fracture in high-strength steels and, as a result, much interesting and useful information has been obtained. In the present memorandum, information is presented from studies using electron-microscopic fractography in the examination of fractures in high-strength steels that have been treated to produce 500 F embrittlement and temper brittleness.
