Abstract : The effect of compressibility on the generation of sound is examined. Lighthill's theory effectively uses the turbulence as a small perturbation in a radiation field; this report uses the compressibility as a small perturbation in a turbulent flow. The results differ slightly and can be explained physically. (Author)
