Abstract : A computer program for initial orbit determination based on a theory employing a linear least squares fit to the geocentric position vectors was developed. Observations can be spread over a number of days since this procedure does not use the times of observations; however, they are used in the differential correction procedure. This program coded for the Philco 2000, is designed for operational use at the space Detection and Tracking Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
